FAQ
What is hantavirus?
Hantavirus is a family of viruses carried by rodents. People get infected by breathing in particles from rodent urine, droppings, or saliva. In the US, it comes from deer mice and does NOT spread person to
person. Source: CDC (cdc.gov/hantavirus)
How do I clean up mouse droppings safely?
The CDC says NEVER sweep or vacuum droppings. Instead: put on gloves and an N95 mask, spray droppings with disinfectant, wait 5 minutes, wipe up with paper towels, and dispose in a sealed bag.
How do mice get into my house?
Mice can squeeze through gaps as small as 1/4 inch — the width of a pencil. Common entry points include gaps around pipes, cracks in foundations, spaces under doors, and openings around vents.
